New South Wales' premier gardening event, the 2012 Australian Springtime Flora Festival, will run from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September 2012 at Mt Penang Parklands, Kariong
Opening Times: Thursday-Saturday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm; Sunday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm

This award-winning event is one of the largest and most popular flora events in Australia. Interspersed among the flora displays and landscaped garden settings will be displays by associated commercial suppliers who help to provide visitors with a total picture of outdoor, garden, lifestyle and home living. In total, there will be over 250 displays to view.

DO YOUR BLOCK FAMILY LANDSCAPING COMPETITION

Families with green thumbs can show off their gardening prowess in the “Do Your Block” competition launching at the 2011 Springtime Flora Festival from 8 to 11 September. Event organisers are now looking for families from all areas including the Central Coast, to Wyong and Newcastle, or even the Hunter Valley and Maitland to compete over the four days of the Festival, to create an innovative, themed “BlockScape”.

The winning entries will see families compete for cash and prizes worth more than $10,000, with the winning team receiving $2000 prize money and the much coveted title of BlockScape Champion. Visitors will be able to enjoy stage entertainment or watch minstrels and other entertainers mixing with the crowd to create a unique atmosphere of fun and relaxation. At the nearby children's activity area, children will be entertained while providing a break for parents.

Not to be outdone, arts and crafts people from all over Australia will hold their own display with up to 30 exhibitors involved.

Vibrant colour, constant entertainment, activity and an atmosphere of fun epitomise this Festival which caters to all members of the family. Up to 50,000 people visit the Australian Springtime Flora Festival over the 4 day event.
